TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process is related to a popular recruitment exam which is conducted to fill various posts through Combined Civil Service Examination-I (Group I Services) in Tamil Nadu. The TNPSC Group 1 selection process comprises three successive stages, i.e., preliminary exam, mains exam, and oral test/interview round.

  • The preliminary round is the first phase of the TNPSC Group 1 selection process. It is a screening test and qualifying in nature.
  • The TNPSC Group 1 exam pattern for the prelims exam comprises two sections, i.e., General Studies and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test.
  • The medium of questions on General Studies will be English and Tamil in the prelims exam.
  • The TNPSC Group 1 prelims exam comprises 200 questions for 300 marks.
  • The marks obtained in prelims exam will not be counted in determining the final rank.

  • The main examination is the second phase of the TNPSC Group 1 selection process.
  • As per TNPSC Group 1 mains exam pattern, the medium of questions on General Studies will be English and Tamil in the mains exam.
  • The main written exam answer sheets of Paper II, Paper III, and Paper IV will be evaluated only if the aspirants secure minimum qualifying marks of 40% marks in Paper I. The marks obtained in Paper I will not be counted for ranking.

TNPSC Group 1 Document Verification

After the announcement of TNPSC Group 1 result PDF, all the successful candidates will be asked to submit all the required documents for scrutiny/verification purpose. In case they fail to produce any of the following documents, it will cause the rejection of their candidature.

  • Caste Certificate, if applicable.
  • Disability Certificate, if applicable.

TNPSC Group 1 Final Allotment List

The final TNPSC Group 1 selection list will be prepared based on the total scores obtained by the candidates in the mains written exam Paper II, Paper III, and Paper IV and Oral Test taken together, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. The final TNPSC Group 1 merit list comprises names and roll numbers of candidates provisionally appointed for the post.
